Care Guide

In order for your new product to last as long as possible, we collected a guide on the materials we use to produce our products, and how to care for them. Following these instructions is an assurance that the appearance and quality of your items will be maintained after repeated use and cleaning. The maintenance of our materials is both easy and efficient for long term use.To achieve optimal results, we recommend dusting and cleaning the product regularly. If not stated otherwise all pieces are for indoor use.

Brass

We intentionally leave our brass surfaces exposed to age naturally over time and use. This can often result in natural imperfections on its surface, making each piece unique.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Please use plain water or lemon or brass specific cleaning agent. After cleaning the brass should be washed thoroughly and dried with a soft cotton cloth to prevent streaking. Special care should be taken to remove any traces of cleaner from edges and rivets. Do not heat this material.

PLEASE NOTE: Natural materials will come with peculiarities and develop a characteristic patina over time.

Terracotta

Terracotta is mainly composed of baked grog and clay. Our products are left unglazed to hero the natural color and texture of the clay and to showcase the natural quality of porosity.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Wash with plain water and wash with soft cotton cloth only if needed. Do not use harsh detergent or soap. Be gentle when handling your items. Avoid placing your terracotta outside in cold temperatures. This can lead to cracks on its surface. Avoid using your terracotta doe any food substance except water.

PLEASE NOTE: The porous nature of Terracotta can create a layer of efflorescence (white patina) on the surface of your product over time.

Handmade paper

Our Handmade paper is made from repurposed cotton textiles that were discarded from the garment industry and would otherwise be sent to a landfill, and it is naturally dyed with organic dyes.

MAINTAINANCE

Limit exposure to sun, as fading may occur. Be mindful to store in a cool dry place to prevence natural dyes from transferring. Clean only if needed with a dry soft cotton cloth.

Ajrakh Printed on Cotton

Our Ajrakh print textiles are made 100% from kala cotton fabric, this is handspun and handwoven fabric from an indigenous variety of  cotton native to the Kutch region of Gujarat. Slight slubs of black/white color, irregularities of weaving and imperfections in printing are all part of the handmade nature of the product and gives the textile its unique character.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING

To be hand washed with room temperature water. To protect the natural dyes you absolutely must use a pH neutral liquid detergent. Wash with similar colours. Immediately hang to dry. Keep away from direct sunlight, dry in a shaded area on the reverse side to keep the vibrancy of colors for a longer time. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Iron at low temperature from backsideonly. Store in the cotton drawstring bag provided when not in use.
